Christmas is coming

Next week will be a Christmas Day. In Bangkok, someplace will be decorated a Christmas tree, lights. This photo is a Christmas tree from a crossing bridge from BTS Chongnonsi to BRT Station. This place is connected of Sathorn CBD . Bangkokian like to take pictures from here in the evening till the night. Sometimes there's a wedding couple taking photos here. 

(In the evening of working day you'll see so many workers here wait in line to take BTS home or chill out.)

Wat Rong Khun and the lesson learned from GPS

เมื่ออาทิตย์ที่ผ่านมา เพื่อนของผมแต่งงานที่เชียงราย จึงมีเวลาท่องเที่ยวในจังหวัดเชียงรายอยู่ 2-3 วัน และได้มีโอกาสไปชมความงามที่วัดร่องขุ่น จังหวัดเชียงราย ออกจากตัวเมืองเชียงรายมุ่งตรงไปที่วัดร่องขุ่น ใช้เวลาไม่นานครับ ประมาณ 20 นาที ก็ถึงแล้ว แต่วันนั้นผมและเพื่อนๆ ขับรถกันไปโดยกำหนดจุด GPS ไว้ ซึ่งมันพาเราไปยังวัดร่องขุ่นอีกที่หนึ่งในจังหวัดเชียงราย ขับไปได้เกือบครึ่งทางมารู้ว่ามาผิดที่เสียแล้ว GPS ได้นำทางเรามาที่ วัดร่องขุ่น จริง แต่เป็นวัดร่องขุ่นซึ่งอยู่ใน ตำบลป่าตาล อำเภอขุนตาล จังหวัดเชียงราย ก็เลยตัดสินใจหักลำรถกับเพื่อน ยอมเสียเวลาอีกครึ่งชั่วโมงแล้วได้มาชมความสวยงามอันเลื่องชื่อของวัดร่องขุ่นของจริง ถือว่าคุ้มค่าแล้วครับ

Here is Wat Rong Khun at Khun Tan District (The wrong place)

Last week I and my friends went to Chiang Rai going to join my friend's wedding ceremony (in Lanna Style) and had a few days to travel. One of the traveled lists is Wat Rong Khun where you can drive from Chiang Rai downtown within 20 minutes. But that day we drove to Wat Rong Khun by GPS which lead us to the Wat Rong Khun located at Khun Tan District where was the wrong place. We've got lost about half of hour and headed back to the real Wat Rong Khun. Seeing the most beautiful and famous temple in Thailand is worth it.

Here are some local mini bus line (red truck) in Sathon - Yannawa - Bang Kho Leam - Bangrak District Area

1240 - Transit to MRT Silom / BTS Sala Daeng
1256 - Transit to BTS Sapan Taksin Station / BTS Surasak Station

How to notice
The bus will have line number label and the destination in thai language to notice. Don't worry about thai language. If you catch on the right line, you'll go to the right destination

How to get on
Just flag down a bus before the bus arrive. Driver will stop the bus and pick you up. After you get on please get inside the bus for the other passenger can get on or get off easily

How to get off
Before arrive your destination about 10-30 meters, just press the ring button to notice the driver. After you got off, pay a fare to the driver

How much
Fare Rate is fixed at 7 THB. Line 1256 will charge you 9 THB after 10.00 P.M.

06.00 A.M. to 10.30 P.M. (9.00 P.M. for Line 1240, 1273)

Bangkok New Year Fireworks

Nice place to see the new year fireworks at Bangkok. (1 January 00.00 - 00.30 about 15 - 30 minutes) I recommend you to go King Taksin Bridge cross-way. (สะพานตากสิน) There are two side of the bridge to see fireworks. If you're on this side of the bridge you will see fireworks from the Asiatique Riverfront view. But If you're on another side you'll see firework from the hotel group along the river

How to go:
(If you would like to take photos, I recommend you to take your tripod for your quality photos and come before fireworks event about 2-3 hours to reserve your view)

BOAT: Chaophraya Express Boat every boat will stop at Central Pier (The Chaophraya Express Boat operating time from 06.00 - 19.30)
then walk upstairs to King Taksin Bridge cross-way

Anyone who travel to Bangkok in winter. I recommend you to join Concert in the Park.

This event is organized annually by Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) every Sunday during December to February.
